Overview

Ecovative is the mycelium technology company that designs and grows sustainable materials that come straight from nature. Our Mycelium Foundry designs fully formed structures that perform just like or better than plastic leather meat and more turning to compost at the end of their life to meet demand without the environmental costs. Ecovative was founded in 2007 by Eben Bayer and Gavin Mclntyre who met while attending Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute as undergraduates. The idea for using mycelium to grow materials was conceived in an Inventor s Studio class led by Professor Bert Swersey. Bert s guidance and early support was instrumental in Eben and Gavin s pursuit of growing better materials. The rest is history in the making. See our growth from the spore of an idea to a global network of businesses using Ecovative s technology.
