Overview

Merthyr Tydfil Institute for the Blind is a not for profit charity who supports disabled people by providing them with employment opportunities both in our supported factory and with mainstream employers. We employ about 50 people manufacturing wood cardboard fibreboard and fabric covered buttons for business customers. We also make standard and bespoke sheds garden furniture pet & garden accessories for the retail market. As an organisation we have been established since 1923 and have grown from being a supported workshop for 14 blind miners. We now support over 200 people a year in South and Mid Wales and are always looking for new opportunities to allow us to support even more people with disabilities.
