Overview
Fundación Alternativa is a small, but growing microfinance institution (MFI) in Ecuador that offers working capital loans and education in order to improve incomes and quality of life for their clients. The organization works in urban, semi-urban and rural areas offering mainly individual loans to micro and small entrepreneurs. The organization is also committed to reaching even more marginalized groups through their solidarity group lending products that target women and their “Hope” credit product that serves families living with disabilities. In addition to providing access to financial services, Fundación Alternativa is committed to finding education solutions that address their clients’ economic needs. In turn the organization has invested in client feedback studies and specialized personnel to help develop and implement a revised education strategy.
