Paul Bernstein

Overview

As the Foundation’s CEO, Paul works with the Trustees, the Advisory Board and the management team to drive PSF’s strategic priorities, research portfolio, grantee engagement, and day-to-day operations. Before joining PSF in 2010, Paul was Global Managing Director of Absolute Return for Kids (ARK) in the UK. ARK was founded by senior figures in the hedge fund industry, seeking to deliver high social returns on philanthropic investment. Paul co-founded ARK South Africa in 2003, one of the first large-scale HIV/AIDS treatment programs in a resource-poor setting, and returned to London in 2005 to lead ARK in its growth across the UK, Southern Africa, Eastern Europe and Asia. Paul is Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for Newark’s Future and a Board member for the Newark Charter School Fund. He holds an MA (Hons) from Jesus College, Cambridge University and an MBA from Cranfield School of Management.
