Laura Weiss

Overview

GO Box founder Laura Weiss loves the convenience and variety of food carts but has always felt guilty using disposable single-serving containers. GO Box is Laura’s way of helping other eco-minded Portlanders reduce their lunchtime footprint. Laura has a Masters in Public Health from U.C. Berkeley and 25 years of experience working on environmental policy for government agencies and advocacy organizations in Oregon, Washington State and Washington D.C. She also has a MBA in Sustainable Business from the Bainbridge Graduate Institute. While working for a large food service company she learned about durable, reusable takeout containers being used on some college campuses, and had the idea that they also could work for food carts. In her free time, Laura enjoys hiking, camping, bicycling, and cross-country skiing. She and her husband, who enjoy visiting foreign countries together, live with their two Mexican mutts in close-in Southeast Portland.
