The Trademark Clinic at California Western School of Law provides free legal services for individuals and small businesses wishing to obtain a federal trademark or service mark from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Their students, working under the supervision of a California-licensed attorney, provide legal assistance to clients who can afford the administrative filing fees but do not have the means to hire an attorney to advise them.

Thomas Jefferson SoL Small Business Law Center

The Small Business Law Center at Thomas Jefferson School of Law is to provide law students with practical skills opportunities that support community economic development in San Diego County. The Small Business (SBLC) at Thomas Jefferson School of Law provides legal assistance to entrepreneurs, artists, inventors, small businesses, and non-profit organizations that do not have the financial means to hire a lawyer. Under the supervision of California licensed attorneys, law students assist clients with their legal needs. Components of the SBLC include the (1) Art and Entertainment Law Project, the (2) Community Economic Development Clinic, the (3) Patent Clinic and the (4) Trademark Clinic. Thomas Jefferson School of Law is currently the only law school in California to have both a patent clinic and a trademark clinic that are certified by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

USD SoL Entrepreneurship Clinic

USD Legal Clinics are funded by the University of San Diego and, in part, by grants from the State Bar of California and the U.S. Department of Treasury. Services are available to lower income individuals. The Legal Clinics at University of San Diego School of Law provide training to upper-level law students while providing needed legal services to the community. All Legal Clinic students are supervised by a practicing attorney. They will make appointments for qualifying individuals to meet for an intake with a law student, on a space available basis.
