Overview

Hack the Hood is a free summer bootcamp for low income youth of color who learn web development and coding skills and then use those skills to help small businesses become visible online. Youth also learn leadership and entrepreneurial skills and visit tech companies to learn about careers in tech. Founded in 2012 Hack the Hood is a non profit project of The Center for Media Change a 501c3. In 2012 we launched in Oakland and we are now expanding around the Bay area.
