Jiro-Ve in Malagasy means do you want ...
Started one year ago, Jiro-Ve is a social-enterprise that already serves 1,000 families with solar products in three small towns in Madagascar. Every evening, a charged-up lamp is delivered to a family’s doorstep by a local franchisee. In the morning, the lamps are again collected and charged up using solar power. During our first year, we have learned a lot and developed an innovative franchised business model that allows us to grow in a sustainable way. Currently Jiro-Ve is already profitable, but requires capital to scale further in order to accomplish our mission to light up at least 50,000 families within the next 5 years. In Madagascar over 14,5 million people remain without electricity and are too poor to buy solar products directly. It is therefore our objective to make an affordable service available in a profitable, scalable manner. Join us in our mission!
