Overview

mPower is a social enterprise founded by graduate students of Harvard University and MIT in 2008. With the aim to change the paradigm of social good with the power of great design, information and technology, they began their journey in Egypt, and soon spread to other countries in Africa, before their center of gravity shifted to Bangladesh in 2010.

Offering solutions to dire development challenges in a wide range of areas, we put the “D” of development back at the center and use mainstream technology as an integrated component to shift mindsets around bringing tech innovations into processes, an approach that we call “Smart Development”.
