EcoRise inspires a new generation of leaders to design a sustainable future for all. Our school based program empowers youth to tackle real world challenges in their schools and communities by teaching sustainability design innovation and social entrepreneurship. With over 17 years of national and international experience working with education programs serving disadvantaged youth Gina LaMotte founded EcoRise (formerly Uplift Austin) in 2008. EcoRise began in one public high school in Austin Texas with the mission of inspiring a new generation of green leaders. Over the years Ecorse has successfully transitioned to a train the teacher model preparing to serve 100 schools in Texas this year and over 500 schools domestically and internationally impacting an estimated 50000 students.EcoRise develops the next generation of creative problem solvers by enlivening conventional classrooms with the academically aligned K 12 curriculum that introduce students to environmental literacy social innovation and hands on design skills. Green professionals serve as guest speakers and project mentors to help students solve real world sustainability challenges concerning energy water waste transportation air quality food and public spaces.
