Mekong Timber Plantations Limited aims to be a leading plantation forestry business in Asia with a focus on higher value timber production for regional markets.Mekong Timber Plantations Limited will manage the existing LPFL plantation estate and the new investment by the New Forests Tropical Asia Forest Fund brings a focus on improving silvicultural practices and ensuring the business meets international best practices for responsible forest management.The company has approximately 24000 hectares of lease area in Bolikhamxay and Khammouane provinces under a concession agreement. Mekong Timber Plantations Limited will focus on its existing core estate of around 14000 hectares of tropical hardwoods.
