Windlift

Windlift

Airborne wind energy systems.

Energy | United States of America | Access to Energy | Energy and Fuel Efficiency

Overview

Windlift develops mobile airborne wind energy systems for the defense and disaster relief markets. Windlift's technology uses a tethered airfoil to replace the large tower and blades found on a traditional wind turbine. The heavy generator and transmission can then be located at ground level enabling the entire system to be mounted to a trailer. This mobility allows Windlift's systems to deliver dispatchable renewable energy to any location. This enables military and disaster relief operators to divert fuel from generators to more mission critical functions saving money and increasing operational flexibility.
