Xometry

Providing access to manufacturing on demand

Overview

We built Xometry to solve two problems.First we heard from product designers engineers and procurement officers that it was too difficult and time consuming to find the optimal manufacturing solution for their custom part needs. They were spending days sending out RFQs waiting for feedback sending drawings asking for different quantities waiting for more feedback only to receive back less than optimal pricing and lead times. We also knew that designers were not always fully aware of the capabilities and limitations of the latest manufacturing technology advances.Second we heard frustration from machine shops who were spending a lot of time and energy responding to inquiries for custom parts that ultimately did not happen. In addition without extensive sales and marketing resources many of these shops were limited to working with customers in their local area making it difficult to grow their business. At Xometry we created a proprietary software platform to enable product designers and engineers to instantly access the capacity of a nationwide network of manufacturing facilities. Our platform makes it possible for customers to receive instant pricing expected lead times and manufacturability feedback. At the push of a button the network is able to deliver high quality parts at consistently fast lead times while offering very low prices. We make it easy for all customers from startups to Fortune 100 companies to access manufacturing on demand by providing the most efficient way to source high quality custom parts. We re dedicated to keeping more manufacturing in America by providing an innovative way for customers to easily work with facilities across the country.Xometry launched in 2014 and has grown rapidly driven by the ease of our instant quoting platform our manufacturing expertise and our relentless devotion to helping customers with their project engineering needs. Our partner network now spans the nation to support the needs of customers and to help drive the business of local machine shops and manufacturing facilities. Partners do not pay to sign up for our network and there is no bidding for specific jobs. Our algorithm sends jobs to a list of carefully vetted facilities with matched capabilities. Xometry s Project Engineering team is always responsible for making sure the parts are done correctly and on time.
