EMPRENDER began operations on February 15th, 1999 with a pilot agency in Chasquipampa area located 35 km. the city center of La Paz, in order to develop a coherent operational strategy, suitable for microentrepreneurs, with customer focus approach in remote areas, considering the physical presence of their clients with a suitable model for care agencies in suburban and rural areas. Since 2000, this experience is replicated in the cities of El Alto, Santa Cruz and Cochabamba. They currently operate in a network of fifteen agencies, five in La Paz city, three in El Alto, four agencies in Santa Cruz and three agencies in the department of Cochabamba. On September 22th, 2009, the Supervisory Authority of the Financial System (ASFI), as part of the process of adaptation, grants to EMPRENDER the certificate of suitability as a Development Financial Institution.
