MaGIC was first announced in October 2013 by the most honourable Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Bin Tun Abdul Razak during the 4th Global Entrepreneurship Summit held in Kuala Lumpur. Cyberjaya plays home to the Centre as it is progressively becoming the preferred location for the technology-driven startup community. In April 2014, Cheryl Yeoh was appointed as MaGIC’s first CEO. Cheryl had spent the past 12 years in the United States of America and most recently in Silicon Valley where her company, Reclip.It was acquired by Walmart Labs in 2013. With her experience and a strong portfolio, Cheryl will lead MaGIC to spur entrepreneurial activities in Malaysia and serve local startups.
