Overview

Edit Kiss is the Director of Business Development and Operations at Althelia Ecosphere managing Althelia’s investor relations and project portfolio as well responsible for developing long-term partnerships with various supply chain actors. Additionally, Edit is representing Althelia within various industry associations such as CodeREDD, IETA and CMIA. Edit has previously been an advisor to IUCN Netherlands and worked on the linkage of REDD+ with biodiversity compensation and green agricultural commodities with special focus on cocoa supply chains. She is co-author of the paper entitled ‘Aligning Biodiversity Compensation and REDD+’ published in November 2013 during COP19 and has also been an ad-hoc advisor to the Ghana Forest REDD+ Cocoa Programme. Previously she was the Carbon Portfolio and Structured Origination Manager at Eneco, a renewable energy company in the Netherlands, where she was responsible for originating structured carbon deals including REDD+ projects and advising the firm on international and EU climate change policy. Edit worked on Eneco’s REDD+ corporate strategy for 3 years, and is the author of their pioneering Code of Conduct, published in Durban at COP17. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Asian Development Bank’s Future Carbon Fund on behalf of Eneco. Prior to joining Eneco, among others, Edit worked for the Bank of America as an emission trader and for Constellation Energy as a carbon project originator. She is an environmental economist and holds an MSc from Corvinus University of Budapest and from HEC Paris. Furthermore she is qualified in ‘Agroforestry systems and practices’ as well as in ‘Forest mensuration’ through the University of Bangor (the distance learning MSc Program in Tropical forestry 2013-2014). Edit has previously also served on the CCB Standard Revision Committee where she provided technical input to the 3rd Edition of the Standard and she is a regular guest lecturer at University of Twente in the Netherlands on climate policy and carbon markets.
