Overview

Michael's current areas of interest include infrastructure (enterprise and carrier), energy, semiconductors and internet. He currently leads Sequoia's investments in C12 Energy, Clickatell, Click Security, Infoblox (BLOX), OpenDNS, Quantenna, R2 Semiconductor, Synapsense, ThinkFinance, Tula Technologies, and Virident. He previously was on the board of Ardent (CSCO), Avanex (AVNX), Ikanos (IKAN), Litepoint (TER), Loglogic (TIBX), Maxcomm (CSCO), Monterey Networks (CSCO), Navini Networks (CSCO), Netiverse (CSCO), Netscreen (JNPR), Pipelinks (CSCO), Santera (TKLC), Spatial Wireless (ALU), Syndesis (SUBX), Versatile Optical (VTSS), Yago Systems (CS), and led Sequoia's investments in Redback Networks (ERIC), Softcom Microsystems (INTC) and Vital Signs Software (ALU). Prior to Sequoia Michael spent 10 years in various engineering, research, and product management roles at DEC, SynOptics and Centillion, and was a director of Engineering at Bay Networks (NT). Michael was also a Technical Chairman of the ATM Forum. Michael has a BS in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and an MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
