Ruurd Brouwer

Overview

Ruurd joined the TCX team in November 2014 and became CEO on 1 January 2015 after a career at FMO the Dutch Development Bank. Most recently he was responsible for Credit Risk as Director IMR prior to that he held a number of senior management positions amongst others as Director Africa and Director Financial Institutions with global responsibility for FMO's Financial Institutions portfolio. Next to his professional career Ruurd has been active as Board Member Investment Committee member government advisor teaching at different Universities and he published several articles. All extracurricular activities are focused on Financial Institutions and Financial Instability in Frontier and Emerging Markets. Ruurd started his career at the United Nations Protection Force in Zagreb after which he joined the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Policy Official active in Private Sector Development. He holds a MSc in Economics of the University of Amsterdam and was awarded the CFA charter.
