Overview
Rural Health Care Foundation draws its inspiration from Late Arun Nevatia (1965-2013), a man who is symptomatic of the undying spirit of man. Arun, unlike his friends, never got a normal childhood of fun and frolic. Diagnosed with Cancer at the tender age of 10, his early days were spent through the pains of chemo-therapy and radio-therapy. The disease relapsed many times and roped within it others diseases like diabetes, blood pressure, cardio myopathy, thyroid, cataract. But despite this physical hurdle, Arun was blessed with superior intelligence owing to which he finished school with flying colors, grabbed a degree from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata and joined the business of housing construction. It was during his college days that he met his future wife who married him disregarding the hard facts entwined with Arun’s physical conditions. For 20 years, inspite of his sufferings, Arun devoted his time to his business. During this phase a sense dawned upon him that it was the power of affordability in terms of good doctors and expensive medicines that he is battling this disease, which is beyond the reach of many.
