Bessie Schwarz

Overview

Bessie Schwarz oversees partnerships and the development of social vulnerability science and practical tools for communities to understand who is most at risk based on social factors. Bessie is also the chief strategist at the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication (YPCCC). As an academic field, climate change communication seeks to understand how individuals, communities, and societies come to recognize, care, and act on climate change. YPCCC develops and test scientific theories, and identifies more effective communication strategies and tactics to address this challenge.
