Overview
Douglas Clayton is the Founder and CEO of Leopard Capital, a pioneer investor in frontier markets. In 2008 Leopard created Cambodia's first investment fund, Leopard Cambodia Fund which has made 14 private equity investments in basic sectors such as financial services, electricity, water, telecoms, beverages, and agriculture. In 2012 Leopard launched Leopard Haiti Fund as a GIIRS-rated impact fund, and has since made investments in drinking water, disaster-resistent housing, and telecoms businesses. Mr Clayton has worked in Asia for nearly three decades, previously at CLSA, Credit Agricole, and Abacus Equity Partners. He serves on the Emerging Markets Private Equity Association’s Asia Council, as Trustee of the Center for Khmer Studies, and as Director of dloHaiti Inc. and Kingdom Breweries (Cambodia) Ltd.
