Overview
In 2009 I co-founded Shamba Technologies to make an affordable product that facilitates energy access to rural households in developing countries. For three years we researched, developed and prototyped a number of different products before finally creating our unique, patent-pending solar power technology. We are currently a 2-person company, though we hire a range of highly-qualified specialist consultants. I've just returned from spending a year living in China where I learned how to mass-manufacture our products as cheaply as possible, without compromising on quality. Oliver is still living in the United Republic of Tanzania, where he carries out market trials of our prototypes, and has a growing network of distributors. Together we have designed a new range of products that could revolutionise the energy market in Africa and look forward to launching them soon!
