Eric Rosenthal

Overview

Eric Rosenthal is an attorney and internationally recognized expert on the international human rights of persons with disabilities and the founder and executive director of Disability Rights International (formerly Mental Disability Rights International). Since establishing DRI in 1993 Eric has conducted investigations and supported the development of new advocacy movements in more than 25 countries of Europe the Middle East Asia and the Americas. He has published reports on the rights of people with disabilities in twelve countries bringing unprecedented worldwide press coverage and attention to the concerns of people with disabilities. In 2008 Eric received the Henry A. Betts Award from the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) for pioneering the field of international human rights advocacy for people with disabilities and bringing unprecedented international awareness to their concerns.
