Overview
Evan Mertens is the technological brain behind Rural Spark. During his studies building services at the Eindhoven University of Technology he became interested in sustainable energy and smart grids. Driven by an urge to rethink how to apply this and inspired by the efficiency of a smart grid he focused on energy for rural India during his graduation project. He recognized the opportunities in India to leapfrog unsustainable top down energy networks.
