Overview

Laura Dunn Esq. is the founder and executive director of SurvJustice a national nonprofit providing legal services to survivors of campus sexual violence. In 2014 Dunn received her JD from the University of Maryland Carey School of Law where she graduated as a Rose Zetzer Fellow earned the Order of the Barristers for her superior skills in trial advocacy and received the William P. Cunningham Award for her national work on campus sexual violence. This work included successfully lobbying for the 2013 Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) Reauthorization advising the White House Task Force to Protect Students Against Sexual Assault and serving as the primary student negotiator on the U.S. Department of Education VAWA Rulemaking Committee. Laura is a published author in the Georgetown Journal of Gender & Law on the topic of campus sexual violence and an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland Carey School of Law where she teaches a course on Sexual Violence & Harassment in Education.
