Overview

Before co founding YSRP Lauren was a Zubrow Fellow in Children s Law at Juvenile Law Center where she worked to end juvenile life without parole sentences ease the transition to adulthood for young people aging out of foster care limit collateral consequences of juvenile adjudications and develop a model for trauma informed advocacy. She also helped manage Juvenile Law Center s youth engagement programs and provided legal services at a homeless shelter for older youth. She co founded YSRP as a reaction to the unmet needs she saw while doing this work. Prior to joining Juvenile Law Center Lauren clerked for Judge David R. Strawbridge in the United States District Court of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Lauren graduated cum laude from Duke University School of Law where she served as the Managing Editor of the Duke Journal of Constitutional Law and Public Policy and represented low income children with legal issues related to their health and education. Prior to attending law school Lauren worked at the Brookings Institution. Lauren graduated cum laude from Yale University with a degree in history and in international studies. She is a 2015 American Express Ashoka Emerging Innovator a TEDX speaker and has appeared on NPR.
