Overview

Lori oversees Acelero Learning’s family and community engagement, ERSEA, health and nutrition, mental health/disabilities work and the home-based program. In this role, she coordinates closely with the Education team to assure that all of our Service Areas integrate interventions that will further our mission to close the achievement gap and help all children achieve their school readiness goals. Lori brings extensive background in public health, family support and organizational and systems change to her role. Immediately prior to joining Acelero Learning, Lori served as Borough Commissioner of Child Protection for New York City’s Administration for Children’s Service, where she was part of a senior leadership team working to implement national best practices in child welfare to improve outcomes for some of our nation’s most vulnerable children. From 1995-2006, Lori worked as deputy director of Columbia University School of Public Health’s National Program Office for Free to Grow: Head Start Partnerships to Promote Substance-free Communities. In this capacity, she worked with diverse Head Start communities in more than 20 states, assisting them to utilize research based family and community strategies to strengthen the overall environments of Head Start children.
