Overview
Mari Budesa, Chief Financial Officer, has extensive financial management and accounting experience in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors. Prior to joining MDIF in New York in 1999, Mari spent nine years as Chief Financial Officer of the Kosciuszko Foundation, an educational and cultural non-profit organisation with an endowment of $25 million. Before moving over to the non-profit world, she was the Treasurer and Comptroller for the Haagen Dazs division of Pillsbury Inc., after various positions as an accounting executive in the U.S. food and garment industries. Mari studied Economics in Croatia before emmigrating to the United States. She is a fully qualified accountant and has an Executive MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University, New Jersey. She is based in New York.
