Overview

Main responsibility Overseeing the development and management of projects in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Other responsibilities included developing managing partnerships with ICCN (Institut Congolais pour la conservation de la Nature) CBOs conservation partners engagement in issues related to strategies governance and development community conservation representing the DRC office in various forums developing partner capacity to effectively manage programmes monitoring and evaluating projects Significant achievements (1) supported Kahuzi Biega Garamba and Maiko National Park to develop their community conservation programme 3 locals development plans were also developed in three chefdoms surrounding Kahuzi Biega and Maiko National Parks . (2) Supported two community reserves in vicinity of Maiko National Park to improve their managementSupported CBOs by reinforcing their Capacity to manage natural resources and community projects. Supported CBOs to set up the microcredits schemes for local communities around Kahuzi Biega National Park as well as in Garamba National Park for Internal displaced persons around Garamba to reduce their pression on the natural resources for those two parks by improving their livelihoods and allow them to gain their confidence specially for displaced persons who lost everything .
