Overview

As a CEO, CTO, director, and senior executive for over 16 years, Michael has experience building new businesses in many areas including energy performance management technologies, carbon/sustainability management systems, application performance management, and HR software systems. Michael is passionate about the intersection between technology and environmental issues - he has founded three companies in this market segment and is the inventor of several technology patents. He is a recognized leader in cleantech and has advised the White House, United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC), and the California Senate regarding cleantech issues, and participated in the UN talks in Copenhagen in 2009. Michael was voted one of the "Top CEOs to Follow" by BusinessWeek magazine, is a frequent guest lecturer in both corporate and academic circles, writes regularly for several publications including Forbes and others, and has made several guest appearances on television to discuss cleantech issues including ABC News and PBS. Michael was most recently Founder and CTO of ENXSuite, a leading energy performance management software vendor in San Bruno, CA, where he remains Chief Green Advisor. Prior to ENXSuite, Michael was CEO and co-founder of Carbonetworks, the world's first carbon management software system, a technology that he architected and designed. Michael is also Founder and Chairman of The Climate Resource, an online climate change information provider. Prior to his career in sustainability, Michael worked with the Java product management group at Quest Software, and was Director of Marketing & Product Development for a Avue Technologies, a Washington DC-based HR software firm.
