Overview

Rob Gitin is the co founder and Executive Director of At The Crossroads started in 1997. At The Crossroads reaches out to homeless youth and young adults at their point of need and works with them to build healthy and fulfilling lives. ATC walks the streets at nighttime in San Francisco in the Tenderloin and the Mission targeting youth who are not accessing traditional services. ATC s holistic long term unconditional support empowers youth to build outstanding lives not just lives of subsistence. Rob first became involved in working with homeless youth through an internship at Youth Outreach Program (YOP) in San Jose while an undergraduate at Stanford University. After graduating in 1996 Rob became a counselor at YOP and a teaching assistant for a course on homelessness at Stanford. In April 1997 he was awarded an Echoing Green fellowship to start up At The Crossroads with his colleague Taj Mustapha and has been working with At The Crossroads ever since. Rob has been invited to speak around the country on the topics of homeless youth organizational development and youth development. In 2012 he was given the GQ Leader award. He is currently a SEERS Fellow at Stanford University co teaching a class on social entrepreneurship.
