Overview
Wolf Gutscher is CEO and Managing Director of SolEd Benefit Corporation. Wolf‘s experience, which spans Energy, Financial Services, Education, and Technology sectors, began at Chevron in the Corporate Controllers office where he was Special Projects analyst responsible for publishing the Corporate Directors monthly Financial/Operating Data book. Following Graduate school, he spent 15+ years in senior positions at various financial institutions, including Wells Fargo, Morgan Stanley, and Citigroup. He served as both a credit and senior business development officer in San Francisco for Wells Fargo’s California Business Banking unit, spent six years with Morgan Stanley in London in Equity derivatives Sales/Structuring and Trading, and while at Citigroup in New York, he was a Senior Account officer in Energy, Metals and Mining, following many of these credits into Citibank’s Workout Group. Subsequently Wolf took a position in the Office of the Chairman, where as Manager of Venture Support, acting in the capacity of COO/CFO pro tem, he led acquisition & assimilation of financial database companies Quadstar, Teradata, and Quotron into Citigroup's Global Retail Bank. During the past 15 years he has been, (as a founding principal) with Global Emerging Markets Advisors (GEM Advisors). During this period, Wolf has, amongst his dozen or so engagements consulted for the Malaysian Ministry of Education together with several Silicon Valley school superintendents on the deployment and role that Technology should/could play in Education for the Country’s entire complement (8,600+) of schools. He was also the first outside consultant brought in to aide in the Bechtel/World Bank financed startup, Infrastructure World (IW) that sought to harness the power of the Internet for the efficient development/financing of Global Infrastructure projects. More recently Wolf has been involved in the Renewables sector; first in Washington State leading a cellulosic ethanol
