Forest Resource Environment Development and Conservation Association (FREDA) is a non-political, non-profit and non-government organization in the forestry sector of Myanmar. Its strength is expertise, dedication and dynamism. Founded in 1996, FREDA is currently composed of (409) members, comprising foresters, botanists, agronomists, zoologists, veterinary scientists, hydro-geologists, engineers, timber businessmen, journalists, artists, etc. Membership is open to any citizen of Myanmar over the age of 18, except those in active government service. FREDA is the country Focal Point for Myanmar in the ten nation South East Asia Civil Society Environment Alliance (SEACSEA) formed in May 2007 to promote environmental protection and sustainable development in the ASEAN region.

Opportunities Now

Myanmar

Opportunities NOW is an Entrepreneurship training school in Myanmar that seeks to reduce poverty by providing business training and mentoring in various stages of business startup. Opportunities NOW not only provides the educational framework to help a business grow, but also gives and manages loans which provide the capital that students need to succeed with their business. Opportunities Now ran its first entrepreneurship training program in May 2012 and has grown rapidly since then.

Project Hub Yangon

Myanmar

Project Hub Yangon is the first co-working space in Myanmar. Our members are people who are sick cafés or working from home. They want something a bit more professional, but don’t need the exorbitant rents of serviced offices or the headache of taking on a lease. We have a central location, excellent wifi Internet, good (free) coffee/tea, cheap beverages, frequent events, and everything else that goes into a social, comfortable, convenient, and productive place to work. PHY is also an incubator for Myanmar entrepreneurs, and is proud to be the official host of Global Entrepreneurship Week, Myanmar.
