Brighton & Hove Energy Services Cooperative (BHESCo)

United Kingdom of Great Britai

BHESCo work with property owners in Sussex to help them meet their energy needs with efficient buildings and clean affordable community owned energy. We recommend the most cost effective solutions for a property and oversee the installation at no upfront cost using our innovative Pay As You Save finance initiative. This means that customers start to see savings immediately. A portion of the savings made from monthly energy bills repays the cost of the installation. Once repaid customers will get the full financial benefit of the savings. Our customers include care homes hotels schools leisure centres housing associations churches small businesses and domestic properties.

Company

Neopenda

United States of America

Neopenda is a Chicago based social enterprise in the global health space. We are a technology startup company striving to engineer innovative healthcare solutions that give newborns in low resource settings the healthy lives they deserve. Our first product is a small low cost wearable vital signs monitor. It is designed for critically ill newborns being cared for in hospitals in low resource countries. We re engineered clinically validated technologies into a simple novel multiparameter sensor array that measures heart rate respiratory rate blood oxygen saturation and temperature. The low power sensors use rechargeable batteries and wirelessly transmit data to a central monitor which alerts nurses when a newborn is in distress. We are currently working towards our first field deployment at our partner hospital in Uganda.
