Overview

lobally, 4.3 billion people don’t use the world’s greatest enabling technology: the internet. Smartphone and mobile internet proliferation is leapfrogging many ‘unconnected’ into the digital age, but there remains something amiss: the newly connected are experiencing the internet for the FIRST time, hence lacking the ‘mental model’ (i.e. intuition of how something works based on past experiences, knowledge, common sense) of WHY and HOW to use basic digital services.

In other words, onboarding these newly connected onto the internet requires not only physical internet connectivity, but also well-developed ‘mental models’.
