Overview
Alex Eaton has been addressing energy, sanitation, agriculture and social justice issues for over ten years, with a focus on low carbon development and the energy and sanitation nexus. As the Executive Director of the International Renewable Resources Institute, Alex has developed and managed carbon offset and renewable energy projects across Latin America, including projects that have been commercialized under the Kyoto Protocol. As a the director and technician for Sistema Biobolsa, Alex has evaluated, developed, and managed small scale and industrial anaerobic digestion systems in Asia, Latin America, and the US. Recent clients include the US EPA, USAID, PA Consulting, various Mexican government offices, and international carbon offset firms. Alex has an MS in Environmental Engineering, with an emphasis on renewable energy development. Alex has a BA in journalism and integrates this background in effective communication into his current work as an energy consultant. Alex also has a background as a mountain and river guide, in film production and photography, and maritime archeological recovery
