Overview

David Rojas is the Business Development and Marketing Director at The Trust. David is responsible for positioning the Trust’s programs globally, strengthening relations with investors and key stakeholders, and identifying strategies for innovation in programs/projects. As the former director of the Trust’s Information Communications Technology for Development unit, David has directed the implementation of POETA (Partnerships for Opportunities in Employment through Technology in the Americas) and Mi Llave initiatives in over 21 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. As the architect of POETA and Mi Llave programs, Mr. Rojas has over 10 years of experience in program management and a strong background in adaptive technologies and creating a positive social impact through ICTs. Under his vision and the efforts of his passionate team, he has been able to integrate business practices into the nonprofit sector, understand the impact of technology in training and education processes, as well as incorporate multisectoral strategies that accelerate the appropriation of results in social development projects. Those programs and projects have been able to adapt to the particular local demands and needs without losing a regional approach under a global vision, creating a sustainable impact in target communities. He earned his Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering at the Universidad de Los Andes in his native Colombia and holds an International Executive MBA and Executive Nonprofit Management Certificate from GeorgetownUniversity. His work experience has focused on the proactive inclusion of people with disabilities, youth at risk and social development programs for marginalized populations. Before working for The Trust, he worked in his consulting firm in Colombia and Panama.
