Overview
June’s background is working in early years and social work. In 1996 June joined LEYF and in 2004 was promoted to chief executive. Since then she has created a vibrant well-respected organisation with a solid reputation that has influence on early years’ policy in the UK. Since 2005 LEYF has moved from dependency on grant funding from local authority/government to independence and trebled in size to 22 nurseries, 320 staff and annual turnover of £8.3m. June speaks regularly at Social Enterprise and Early Years’ conferences, is a director of Social Enterprise London, NDNA and the Daycare Trust, and has published 2 books on Early Years leadership.
