Lap Chan

Overview

Lap Chan is the senior partner and founder of Bio Assets. Previously he served as Director of AES Latin America Business Development where he coordinated AES Corporation business development growth efforts in the region. At AES Lap also had a lead role in establishing relationships between possible Chinese partners. These included Chinese state owned enterprises in the energy field along with Chinese construction companies and banks.At Bio Assets Lap secured strategic alliances with major Chinese Energy SOEs for their entry into Latin America focussing on Brazil.Before Bio Assets Lap also founded other businesses in the Aluminum industry and trading companies in the UK and US. He also held executive positions at Morgan Stanley NY and London. Lap holds a Bachelor degree in Economics and International Relations from Brown University and an MBA from the University of Sao Paulo.He has been a guest speaker at Renewable Energy Climate Change (UNFCCC ) and Biodiversity conferences.As a global senior executive he is well travelled and has lived close to half his life around the world in Hong Kong Brazil US Sweden and England. He is fluent in English Portuguese Spanish and conversational in Cantonese.Lap also founded an NGO Institute for a Sustainable Amazon.
