Majora Carter

Overview

After a decade of pioneering green-infrastructure, job creation, and greater Environmental-Equality for all Americans, Majora Carter has joined forces with a long term capital fund that is as dynamic as she is. Majora and the Center for the Greater Good aim to direct investment towards a collective impact strategy that matches her history of vision in the face of daunting odds, with sustainable returns that produce lasting positive educational, health, and economic outcomes for communities mired in generational poverty. Majora's other interests include hosting the Peabody Award winning NPR series: The Promised Land. She has a long list of awards and honorary degrees, including a MacArthur "genius" Fellowship. She founded Sustainable South Bronx in 2001 when few were talking about "sustainability", and even fewer, in places like The South Bronx. Since 2008, her consulting company, MCG has exported Climate Adaptation, and Leadership Development strategies for Business, Government, Foundations, Universities, and economically under-performing Communities.
