Overview

An avid hiker, Matt is no stranger to the need of power while off the grid. This personal experience was on his mind while developing an energy harvesting shoe insert at Carnegie Mellon University with fellow co-founder Hahna. As a result, he decided to be a part of SolePower’s formation and bring forth a new and more reliable off-grid personal energy solution. Beyond being SolePower's CEO, he is an extremely capable engineer who, with a little bit of superglue and a dremel, can make just about anything work. He was recently honored on Forbes’ 30 under 30 list in the energy category.
