Overview
A passionate creator of projects that carry high social impact. She has a bachelor's of arts in fashion design, and has devoted the last decade to founding cultural centers that foster art expression within her community, and articulating operations at various NGO's centered on progress and youth health. Now she has started a project that is focused on one ambitious goal: curbing the growing number of unintended pregnancies and the spread of STIs in the youth of her country, Mexico, as a pilot, and soon after expand this model globally. She has a deep personal connection to these problems. Just over two years ago she lost a very dear friend to the battle against HIV, an event that enraged her and propelled her into harrowing self-questioning. Life altering events such as this one, sprung from foregoing an operation that takes merely 10 seconds to perform: the use of a condom. May found this situation unacceptable and decided that something needed to be done. In october of 2012 with her brother Sebastian as co-founder she launched rubberit.co. Presently she is leading a team of 6 awesome change-makers who are enthusiastically committed to scalability. Their particular sets of tools complement rubberit's mission seamlessly and she's proud to count them as part of her new family.
