Anoop Gupta


Anoop Gupta is a Distinguished Scientist at Microsoft Research. He works on cross-disciplinary projects that have potential for large business or societal impact. His recent projects focus on areas of education, communication, collaboration, and natural user interfaces. Beginning April 2014, Anoop also leads the Technology Policy Group at Microsoft. He reports to Harry Shum, Executive Vice President for Technology and Research. Prior to re-joining MSR, from 2007-2009, Gupta served as corporate vice president of technology policy and strategy for Microsoft. In this role, he guided Microsoft's engagement with governments and institutions around the world regarding Microsoft's vision of upcoming technology innovations and the combination of policies and regulations that might maximize their benefits for citizens. He was a key contributor to the passing of the white-spaces telecommunications regulation freeing-up unused TV spectrum by FCC in November 2008. In this role, Gupta reported to and worked closely with Craig Mundie, Microsoft's Chief Research and Strategy Officer.

Dr. Romesh Wadhwani


Romesh is a successful Silicon Valley entrepreneur and philanthropist with passion for wealth creation. After building three large scale successful companies in three decades, the last of which was sold for over $9 billion, Romesh founded the Wadhwani Foundation in 2003 to which he has committed to donate most of his wealth. Romesh envisioned high impact social change in emerging economies through sustained economic acceleration. This vision led to the launch of Wadhwani Foundation’s five Initiatives through which the Foundation drives large scale job creation and skill development in multiple countries. Romesh is also the Founding Chairman and CEO of Symphony Technology Group, a 10 year old PE firm comprising of 14 companies, with a combined revenue of $2.7 billion and 17,000 employees. Romesh obtained a B. Tech degree from IIT Bombay and an MS and Ph.D in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. He features in the Forbes 400 list and in August 2012 was appointed by U.S President Barack Obama as General Trustee, Board of Trustees of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, a key administration post. Romesh is a proud recipient of the prestigious ‘Non Resident Philanthropist’ award at the Forbes India Philanthropy Awards 2013.

Gururaj Deshpande


Gururaj Deshpande ("Desh" Deshpande) is an Indian American venture capitalist and entrepreneur, who is best known for co-founding the Chelmsford, MA-based internet equipment manufacturer Sycamore Networks, the Deshpande Center for Technological Innovation at MIT and the Deshpande Foundation. Presently, Deshpande is the Chairman of A123Systems, Sycamore Networks, Tejas Networks, HiveFire, Sandstone Capital, Sparta Group,and sits on the Board of Airvana. Deshpande is also a Life Member of the MIT Corporation, the Board of Trustees of MIT.

Steve Singh


Mr. Singh has served as Concur's Chief Executive Officer since 1996 and director since 1993, including serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors since September 1999. Mr. Singh currently serves on the boards of directors for CornerStone OnDemand, Cleartrip, Buuteeq and ModuMetal. In addition, Mr. Singh serves is a director at the Washington Roundtable, chairman of the GBTA Foundation, a director of the W Fund, and a member of the Advisory Board for the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington. Prior to Concur, Mr. Singh served as the General Manager of the Contact Management Division at Symantec Corporation.
